Llandeilo Fawr Music Festival 2018

The John S Davies Singers opened Llandeilo Fawr Music Festival on 14 July 2018 with an exciting programme of choral music.
The venue, St Teilo’s Church, was full and the audience enjoyed the best choral music with sublime details of harmony throughout.
John S Davies conducted the Singers and Westward Chamber Orchestra, (leader Carl Darby),to his usual exemplary and exacting very high standards.
The first half of the programme included performances of Handel’s ‘Zadok the Priest,’ ‘Let God Arise’and Vivaldi’s ‘Magnificat.’ The much-loved Imperial (‘Nelson’) Mass by Haydn formed the second half of the evening’s programme. The soloists were Alys Mererid Roberts(soprano), Polly Leach (mezzo soprano), Peter Wilman (tenor) and Philip Lancaster (Baritone). A fine performance left the audience very appreciative of the moving and wonderfully performed choral music of this concert.
